The Coats Viyella Prize for best undergraduate dissertation has been awarded to Leeds student Julia Stallard by the Textile Institute. Julia graduated in 1996 with a first class BA (Hons) in Textile Management, and beat off competition from students in Australia, India, New Zealand and the UK. Her winning dissertation concerned William Morris and the use of natural dyestuffs, and the award was presented during the Textile Institute's annual convocation at Manchester Town Hall.
