The University has been awarded 54 provisional places in a scheme which supports 900 highly talented international students to carry out research in the UK. The Overseas Research Students Awards Scheme was introduced in 1980, and is meant to ensure outstanding students are still able to carry out research in Britain despite the increased fee levels. Leeds is one of nearly 200 higher education institutions participating in the scheme.
