The first woman President in the 40-year history of the General Dental Council, Dr Margaret Seward, visited the Leeds Dental Institute in December to open a Training Laboratory for technicians. The £140,000 refurbishment provides greatly improved practical and computer facilities for its 'in-house' training course in dental technology, the only one of its kind in Yorkshire. It is hoped an exchange programme will be set up with a similar institute in Poland.
