A partnership between the Cumbria-based company Oxley Developments and the School of Materials has resulted in a breakthrough in multilayer capacitor development. The project has produced a capacitor four times more efficient than conventional devices for its size. Filter capacitors are a requirement for all electric products from computers to aircraft, and are necessary for suppressing electromagnetic and radio frequency interference.
